These celebrities didn't settle for ordinary presents when it came to their partners — they went big, bold and, in some cases, billboard-sized.

Over the years, stars have pulled out all the stops with gifts that range from custom artwork to elaborate public tributes. Blake Lively commissioned a custom painting for Ryan Reynolds that paid tribute to a meaningful part of his past. Meanwhile, John Legend arranged a private ballet performance for Chrissy Teigen. And after Serena Williams gave birth to the couple's first child, Alexis Ohanian celebrated the occasion by renting four billboards in her honor.

Whether celebrating a major life event, paying tribute to a shared memory or simply making a statement, these gifts stand out for their scale, creativity and personal touches.

Here's a look at 10 over-the-top celebrity gifts that show just how far stars will go to make their partners feel special.

In a 2019 Instagram post, Reynolds gushed about the "greatest present" Lively had ever given him. The gift was a painting by Los Angeles-based artist Danny Galieote, which Lively had commissioned specifically for Reynolds.

"My first job was delivering newspapers for the Vancouver Sun," he explained. "The house in the painting is my childhood home. My brothers and I spent years trying to kill each other on that lawn. The house no longer stands, but it's a living, breathing thing in my head."

Reynolds continued, saying, "There are a lot of Easter eggs in the painting, including my idol, John Candy, on the front page of the newspaper."

While he didn't specify the occasion, he made it clear how much he treasures the artwork. "If there's ever a fire, I'm grabbing this first," he joked. "I'll come back for Blake."
