Amal Clooney showed off a retro-inspired summer chop in photos shared on June 12.

The lawyer traded her signature bombshell curls for a "bell-bottom" haircut.

Clooney paired her new look with a dreamy '70s-inspired lilac peplum dress in Thailand.

Amal Clooney looked like she'd stepped straight out of the 1970s while debuting a stunning summer hair transformation. In photos shared on June 12, her go-to hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos captured the human rights lawyer with a brand now "bell-bottom" haircut as she stepped out in Bangkok for Cartier's Women Initiative event this week.

For her latest appearance, Clooney showed off a fresh chop that cut several inches off her nearly waist-length hair. Despite the Thailand heat, the activist's chest-length locks stayed sleek and shiny, showing off her caramel-woven highlights as well as a fuller silhouette at the bottom.

Giannetos, who styled Clooney's hair in a side part with a subtle curl at the bottom to give it a "'70s flair," told InStyle, "The bell bottom cut is perfect for people with a V face shape. It balances out the face structure because it has more volume at the bottom. It's a blunt cut with the perfect bounce."

The 48 year old, who showed off different angles of her new hair before and at the event, paired her "bell-bottom" haircut with a lilac Prada dress. The sleeveless crew-neck dress featured a sculptural peplum bodice that flared around her upper thighs, which was layered over a floor-length column skirt underlay. Her skirt featured a thigh-high slit in the back, showing off a peep of her metallic pointed-toe stilettos. A metallic clutch finished off her look.

In his Instagram post, Giannetos said the "soft bouncy blowout" was inspired by the "geometrical" gown, challenging him to create "something timeless, chic, but at the same time … bold."

Clooney accessorized her lilac dress with Cartier jewelry, adding some loud luxury sparkle with a bracelet, statement ring, and hoop earrings. The mom-of-two—who shares 9-year-old twins Ella and Alexander with husband George Clooney—kept the pastel palette going with a soft iridescent lavender shade on her eyelids and cheekbones and a mauve lip, courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury.
