Ariana Grande has a subtle response to fans weighing in on her health.
The singer liked a post, which read, “Not everyone will like the healthier version of you.”
The social media interaction comes days after the singer announced that she is taking a break from the public eye and establishing “boundaries.”
Ariana Grande is subtly shutting down the ongoing discourse surrounding her health.
On Wednesday, just days after announcing that she will be retreating from the public eye and taking a break amid the surge of commentary about her health, Grande “liked” a pointed message about getting healthier despite the opinions of those around you.
The post, from New York-based psychotherapist, relationship expert, and author Terri Cole, sees her putting on lipsticks in front of a mirror. The clip is overlaid with text that read, “Unfortunately, I can confirm that not everyone will like the healthier version of you.”
Cole continued, “That’s okay. Get healthier, anyway.”
Cole had more to say on the subject in her lengthy caption, which addressed how personal growth can put a strain on relationships.

“That tension can be awkward to deal with sometimes,” she wrote. “There are going to be people who celebrate the healthier version of you… and you might have those who miss the version of you that was stretched thin, keeping everyone else happy + comfortable.”
Cole continued, “Keep growing and prioritizing yourself regardless. You have more strength than you likely give yourself credit for, and every step you take to honor your boundaries is proof of that.”
The psychotherapist added that “people who are meant to be in your circle will love and appreciate your growth,” instead of longing for “just the parts of you that make everything comfortable or convenient.”
Grande liked the post from her official account, but did not leave a comment.

The social media interaction comes days after a rep for Grande revealed to PEOPLE that the actress will no longer participate in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With Georgewith her Wicked costar, Jonathan Bailey, and announced that the singer will be taking a “much-deserved break” after concluding her Eternal Sunshine tour.
The statement added that after ending her tour on “a high note” with a Sept. 1 concert in London, Grande will step back from the spotlight, noting that her public-facing appearances have lately led to “endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”

The break comes amid a surge of discourse surrounding Grande’s health, as recent months have seen fans express concern while scrutinizing the singer’s body and physical appearance. The chatter ramped up as she began taking the stage for her tour in June and reached new heights after the release of her latest single “Petal,” and its accompanying music video.
Grande has since addressed the announcement while on stage in Chicago.
“Boundaries, they need to be set,” she told fans. “Human beings can need a break sometimes. And also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.”

She added, “No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or elaborate to me than this love that we share. The rest of that s--- is not mine to carry, so I don’t carry it.”
She stated that she quietly began planning the break “a long time ago,” adding that it was a decision “made from a thoughtful and empowered place.”
