Billie Eilish surprised fans this week by dropping the first trailer for Hit Me Hard & Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) on Instagram, along with a special 72-hour early ticket access window.

The movie, co-directed by Eilish and filmmaker James Cameron, will hit theaters globally on March 20, 2026.

In her caption, the 23-year-old superstar wrote, “THE TRAILERRRR… IS HERE! For the next 72 hours, you can sign up for early access to buy tickets for the movie <333!!!!!”

The announcement instantly drew excitement from fans who followed her sold-out tour across North America, Oceania and Europe.

The trailer gives the first full look at how Eilish’s tour will be transformed into a large-scale 3D movie experience, one that aims to be her biggest concert film yet.

The trailer opens with Eilish taking photos of fans camping outside her venue. Their shocked screams set the tone for the fast-paced montage that follows scenes of packed arenas, fire-lit stages and the singer performing with her band.

Cameron, known for directing Avatar, appears in the trailer and stresses the scale of the project, saying “No one has ever shot a concert film on this scale before. We’re using tech no one has used before.”

The film blends Eilish’s energetic performances with behind-the-scenes moments that show the emotional journey of touring. At one point, she addresses how she had been “carrying a lot of pain” during the lengthy run of shows.

A touching moment comes when the trailer shows that her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, could not attend one of her milestone shows. Eilish becomes visibly upset before a clip later reveals him surprising her onstage.

Finneas’ letter to her is also highlighted, where he wrote, “It’s been the joy of my life to travel the world with you three times… Can’t wait to see you soon.”

Billie Eilish ‘Reinventing Concert Experience’

Promoters describe the project as an “innovative new concert experience,” combining Cameron’s advanced film technology with Eilish’s already cinematic stage visuals. The text in the trailer reads: “She changed music. He changed movies. Together, they’ll reinvent the concert experience.”

This will be Eilish’s most widely released concert film. Her previous live film, Live at the O2 (2023), had only a limited release, but this new project targets IMAX and large-format screens worldwide. Industry watchers expect it to compete with the massive success of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie.

The timing also follows a strong year for Eilish. Songs from her album Hit Me Hard and Soft earned multiple Grammy nominations, and her tour, which ran from Sept. 2024 to Nov. 2025, became one of her personal favorites.

Eilish says directing the movie with Cameron has been “a dream come true,” marking a major creative milestone in her filmmaking journey.

Though the film won’t premiere until March 20, the early push has already built strong momentum. For fans who couldn’t attend the tour, or those who want to relive it, Eilish’s new 3D movie promises a rare chance to see the show from the best seat in the house.
