Brad Pitt has asked a judge to order his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, to share her private financial records from 2017 to 2019. This is part of their long-running court battle over Chateau Miraval, the French winery they used to co-own.

This new legal step started after Jolie claimed that she stepped back from her acting career. She stated that she gave up years of pay after their 2016 split. The fight over their shared vineyard is currently ongoing in court.

Brad Pitt Seeks Records of Jolie’s Income and Profit Statements From 2017 to 2019

According to the court documents produced by the Daily Mail, Pitt has asked to see Jolie’s earnings and movie profit records from 2017 to 2019.

Pitt has claimed that she first agreed to hand over records covering 2017 through 2021. However, she has only provided documents for 2020 and 2021 so far.

Pitt’s legal team has said that the actress is withholding financial papers she promised to share. The court filing has highlighted her claim that she put her career on hold after their 2016 breakup. She said this meant ā€œforgoing years of compensationā€ while Pitt held ā€œsubstantial leverage and controlā€ over her due to her financial situation.

The filing adds that by 2019, Jolie felt like she had to sell her share of Miraval to get ā€œfinancial independenceā€ from Pitt.

The court papers also note that on February 23, 2026, Jolie changed her mind about giving full records for 2017 to 2021. Instead, she limited her papers to just 2020 and 2021, showing only her tax returns and film profit statements for those two years.

Pitt’s lawyers said they offered a simple deal earlier. They suggested Jolie agree that she felt no financial pressure before January 1, 2020, and that Pitt did not use money to control her between 2017 and 2019. But Jolie rejected that offer.

During a court meeting, the judge suggested limiting what she would have to say about her income in court. She turned that down as well. The filing says she confirmed that she will not argue at trial that Pitt used Miraval to control her. She added that her choice to pause her career is about why his proposed privacy agreement was allegedly abusive.

Jolie Disputes Pitt’s Framing of Her Statements

In an earlier legal filing, Jolie fought back against how Pitt described her words. She said that his lawyers picked out small parts of her statements to twist her meaning. She explained that she wanted ā€œfinancial independence from her ex-husband,ā€ which did not mean that she was broke or struggling.

Jolie also mentioned that she never said she was in financial trouble or trapped without money. She said Pitt made up that story himself.

Her team further argued that her personal financial situation does not give him the right to see her private records. She said her only goal was to separate her money from her ex-husband by selling her share of Miraval.
