Brooklyn Beckham did not attend David Beckham's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony alongside his siblings.
The footballer's longtime friend Tom Cruise spoke at the ceremony.
David Beckham thanked his family, including his "beautiful children," during his own remarks.
Brooklyn Beckham didn't celebrate his father's latest achievement with the rest of his family.
David Beckham received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, and his eldest son was not in attendance to commemorate the milestone with his mother, Victoria Beckham, and the footballer's other children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
Brooklyn's conspicuous absence comes nearly five months after he blasted David and Victoria in a series of social media posts that accused them of "trying endlessly to ruin" his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz. "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life," Brooklyn said on his Instagram Stories in January, noting that he had no desire to "reconcile" with his family.

Many of David Beckham's famous friends were in attendance at the ceremony, including James Corden, Eva Longoria, Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane, and Kyle Martino.
Most notable of Beckham's non-familial guests, however, was Tom Cruise, who seldom appears publicly in the Los Angeles area but took the podium to honor the athlete during the ceremony.
"What makes David's story truly remarkable isn't simply where he is today — it's how it began," Cruise said during his remarks. "Every chapter of his life and career was built on the same thing: hard work and dedication. Long before the trophies, the sold-out stadiums, the global fame, the recognition, there was a young boy with a dream and the determination and discipline to earn everything that followed."
The Mission: Impossible actor explained why the English athlete was fully deserving of an honor ordinarily reserved for U.S.-based entertainers. "That's why this feels like such a fitting place for us to celebrate him," Cruise said. "His is a Hollywood story: a boy who believed in something bigger than himself, had to work for every opportunity he received, and went on to influence his sport, shape culture around the world, and create opportunities for generations who followed."
He continued, "And for all the records, achievements, and recognition, the thing that has impressed me most is that success has never changed who he is. The same core values that got him there are the ones he lives by today."

Cruise also shouted out Beckham's family. "Through much of that extraordinary journey, Victoria has been by his side, and together they have built a beautiful family, raised incredible children, and created a life that is every bit as meaningful as the career we're celebrating today," he said. "So David, congratulations to you. You earned this, and nobody, and I mean nobody, deserves it more, my friend."
Later, in his own speech, Beckham shared his lifelong affection for Hollywood entertainment. "The cinema was a huge treat for me and my sisters, and like all boys my age, I was obsessed with action heroes," he said. "So to stand here in front of my friend, Tom Cruise, the greatest movie star of our time, is, quite frankly, mind-blowing."

Cruise's work also has a personal connection to Beckham's marriage. "The fact that mine and Victoria's first movie date was Jerry Maguire is a pretty mad full-circle moment," he said.
"Tom, I am so grateful for your friendship," he continued. "You welcomed us to L.A. 20 years ago, and you have been a loyal friend and an inspiration to me ever since. Your energy, professionalism, and commitment to what you love and your audience is unrivaled, and I'm so honored that you are here today with me."

Cruise and Beckham's friendship dates back to the early 2000s. The footballer admitted in 2009 that his youngest son, Cruz, was named after the actor. "I must admit, when [Victoria and I] met Tom, I remember turning to Victoria and saying, 'Cruise is a great name, but we could spell it different,'" he told his biographer, Grant Wahl (via Glamour).
Elsewhere in his remarks at the ceremony, Beckham paid tribute to his family. "My parents and my sisters, who always supported my dreams. Victoria, my amazing wife, for almost 30 years, without whom none of this would be possible or enjoyable. And my beautiful children, who are the reason that I get out of bed in the morning," he said. "Kids, I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big. To make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I'm so grateful for you all. I love you, and thank you so much for this honor, L.A. It means the world to me."
