The Main Stage festivities at Coachella 2026 ended earlier than expected during the opening night of the festival.

The event's organizers announced that EDM star Anyma, who was scheduled to hit the fest's biggest stage at midnight after Sabrina Carpenter's headlining set on Friday, would no longer perform.

Coachella announced that it had canceled the artist's set on its official Instagram, citing weather concerns.

"Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma's stage build, he is unable to perform tonight," read the statement. "Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority."

Anyma, who rose to fame as half of the EDM duo Tale of Us, apologized to his fans for the development in a comment on Coachella's announcement post. "I'm sorry everyone," he wrote. "We've done everything in our control to build the show I've worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now."

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Anyma and Coachella for more information.

The festival did not immediately announce whether Anyma's set would be rescheduled for later in the weekend, nor did it clarify whether the musician would still perform during weekend 2 as originally planned.

Anyma is not the first artist whose Coachella set was canceled this year. On Wednesday, the punk group Lambrini Girls announced that they could not perform their scheduled set because vocalist Phoebe Lunny suffered a serious injury.

"We have to pull out of Coachella and reschedule our whole American headline tour," Lunny's statement on the band's official Instagram said."Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury."

Lunny continued, "We hope and pray there's some universe we get to play next year instead," adding, "Because it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now, but I'm lucky and expect a speedy recovery thank f--- lol."

Carpenter's headlining set on Friday night boasted hits from her albums Man's Best Friend and Short n' Sweet. The performance featured surprise guest appearances from Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell, as well as pre-recorded cameos from Samuel L. Jackson and Sam Elliott.

They weren't the only Hollywood hitmakers to appear as unexpected guests on Friday, either. The vocalists behind KPop Demon Hunters' fictional girl group Huntr/x — Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey) — joined Katseye during their set on the Sahara stage to perform "Golden," the trio's Oscar-winning hit from the animated film.
