Donald Trump gets brutal new nickname as he's 'completely zonked out' on live TV

Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump for falling asleep in his latest White House meeting, with the comedian's fans coming up with an awkward new nickname for the president.
Trump, 80, held a meeting in the White House on Thursday, October 1, to announce a planned liquefied natural gas pipeline in Alaska. He was joined by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Energy Secretary Chris Wright.
Lutnick and Wright were filmed heaping praise on the president, but Trump didn't seem to notice as he had his eyes closed during the meeting. Kimmel has previously mocked Trump for falling asleep during meetings, describing him as "Nappy Don Trump."

During Thursday's meeting, Representative Nick Begich said, "President Trump, by far, and I’ve said this before, has been the greatest president in the history of our state. The United States offers our allies and our friends abroad something that they can’t find anywhere else."
Kimmel jumped on Trump's apparent nap as he hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! later that evening. Kicking off his monologue, the comedian said, "It's something that I unfortunately can believe, consumer confidence is now lower than it was during the pandemic. Remember the good old days when we thought our parents were gonna die of a highly contagious disease?

"But don't worry, the president says, 'Our nation is doing really well, in many ways better than ever before. But the public just doesn't know how well we're doing. The fake news media refuses to disseminate our record-setting numbers, so I'm doing the best I can to do it myself.'
"No way he came up with disseminate on his own. He thinks disseminate is how he got stuck with Don Jr." The audience laughed as Kimmel then took aim at Trump's meeting.
The comedian said, "Make no mistake, the president right now is working very hard to right the ship that definitely isn't sinking. Trump held an event yesterday to triumphantly announce a $54 billion investment in natural gas."
A clip played from the meeting, showing Trump falling asleep as those around him spoke. The program cut back to Kimmel, who said, "That's right, something they can't find anywhere else, a president who's completely zonked out in a room full of people kissing his a--. That used to get his attention."
The host continued, "Only Donald Trump would fall asleep during a press conference with the Secretary of Energy." A clip of Kimmel's monologue was shared on Instagram, with viewers loving his routine.
"Yessssssss Jimmy," one person praised. Others took aim at the president, with one giving Trump a brutal new nickname. "Dozing Donald!" they commented.

"He’s always sleeping!!" another person fumed, as a fourth Instagram user asked, "Is he ever awake?" Someone else begged, "If only Trump could sleep walk and fall over the edge."
One Kimmel fan wrote, "At this point we have to laugh so we don't cry," as another person joked, "I’m surprised they haven’t put one of those restaurant pagers in his pocket. Every time he nods off, someone at the control desk hits the button: BZZZZZ. “Your presidency is ready, sir."
