Shabana Azeez has confirmed that her character, Dr. Victoria Javadi, will not be in the ER in season 3.
She'll remain on the show, though focus is now on emergency psychiatry.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Supriya Ganesh's Dr. Samira Mohan is exiting the show.
The Pitt's team of emergency workers will look a bit different heading into season 3.
Following the news that Supriya Ganesh, who plays Dr. Samira Mohan, would be exiting the show after season 2, Shabana Azeez, who plays Dr. Victoria Javadi, has announced that she, too, is leaving the ER.
Azeez has been a regular on The Pitt since season 1 as Javadi, a student doctor. The 20-year-old Javadi is a particularly gifted student who nevertheless suffers under the weight of the expectations of her two highly respected surgeon parents — who also work at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
However, if you watched season 2 of The Pitt, you'll know that a change for Javadi isn't a huge surprise. She was having a career crisis of sorts, after all.
With the departure of Mohan, fans are understandably distraught at the prospect of having to say goodbye to their fan-favorite Zoomer, too. Here's what we know about Shabana Azeez's future on The Pitt.

Throughout the second season of The Pitt, Javadi begins to buckle under the pressure of ER chaos. As the season progresses, the TikTok star questions whether the emergency department is the right fit for her.
After experiencing the particularly grueling day that was the entirety of season 2, Javadi has something of an epiphany about the mental health state of her coworkers — in particular, her mentor, Dr. Robby, who crumbles emotionally across the season.
In a conversation with her coworker, Dr. Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell), she admits that "the more time I spend here, the more I realize the importance of mental health — for patients and for us."

Whitaker replies, "Maybe that's what you should focus on."
The season ends with her realizing that her passion might be in psychiatry. Robby agrees, saying, "I think that you could do anything that you put your mind to, Victoria."

No, Azeez is not leaving The Pitt. However, she is leaving the ER.
As the actress revealed in a June 6 interview at the Newport Beach TV Fest: "I'm not in the ER this season. I've done my ER rotation, so I'm doing my psychiatry rotation."
"It's a very different vibe for me," she added. "And I'm scared and nervous. But it's an honor to be able to show that part of medicine."
The winter-set third season won't see quite as big of a time jump as the one between seasons 1 and 2, so it's unclear how far Javadi will have gotten into her career change. But Azeez did confirm that once season 3 is underway, Javadi will no longer be feet-first in the horrors of emergency medicine. Instead, she'll be assisting her former coworkers when they need psychiatric assistance.
