Britney Spears' decision to check into a rehab has lots of people rooting for her, even her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

News broke on Sunday that the pop star had "voluntarily" checked herself into rehab after her representative confirmed it to multiple outlets on Sunday. Federline —who shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with Spears —shared his support for his ex via his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

"Kevin is aware of the reports that she has checked into rehab and that if she needs help, he is happy that she is getting help and that the decision appears to be one that she made and not one imposed upon her by others if it was," Kaplan told TMZ on Monday. "The key is that whatever the recommended treatment plan is that she follows it and completes it."

Spears’ decision to check into rehab came over a month after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Ventura, Calif. The 44-year-old singer was released the following morning, March 5, per arrest records from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

A representative for Spears called her arrest "an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable" and said her loved ones were planning to step in "with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success" moving forward.

"Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life," the rep added in their statement. "Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."

It wasn't the first time Spears found herself in legal trouble; the singer previously faced four misdemeanor charges after she got into an alleged hit-and-run accident with a parked car in Los Angeles in 2007. The charges were later dropped after she paid the vehicle's owner for the damages.

Spears was placed under a conservatorship the following year, which she wouldn't be released from until 13 years later in 2021. In February, ** learned that the artist sold her entire catalog to publisher Primary Wave for around $200 million.

Spears broke her silence a few days after her arrest with a social media post on Instagram featuring her son Jayden.

"Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing!" Spears wrote in the caption. She added a string of rose emojis and a call to "Stay kind!"

The Grammy winner is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
