Lady Gaga and Doechii released their collaborative track, “Runway,” on April 10.

The track was initially revealed in the final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Gaga played the song during the Saint Paul, Minnesota stop of The Mayhem Ball the night of its release.

Lady Gaga and Doechii have delivered their track from The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack on April 10. The song, “Runway”—which appeared in the final trailer for the movie ahead of its May 1 release in theaters—sees the women leaning into their confident side and embracing the attention that comes with all eyes being on them.

Gaga starts the song by making it clear that she isn’t bothered by what other people think. “Walk, I’m feeling fab / I’m feeling free, I feel exceptionally me / Hate all you want, but I’m dangerous / You gon’ burn your tongue on this tea.”

In the chorus, both she and Doechii sing about having nonstop confidence and joy: “Monday through Sunday / I can turn a dance floor into a runway / Turn it up, turn around.”

They also assert their comfort being in the spotlight in the song’s bridge, adding, “I ain’t scared of no cameras / Born for the runway.”

The title of the track serves as a nod to Runway magazine, the publication at the center of The Devil Wears Prada and The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The premise of the original movie follows Anne Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs, an aspiring journalist, who takes the job as the junior assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), Runway’s editor-in-chief.

In The Devil Wears Prada 2, Andy returns to Runway and finds herself back in the world of fashion, helping Miranda as Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), now a rival executive, fights against her for ad revenue in the declining print media space.

On the night of the song’s release, Gaga played “Runway” while closing out night one of The Mayhem Ball in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The collaboration between Gaga and Doechii comes after the pair has publicly praised one another’s artistry. At the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Doechii presented the “Born This Way” singer with the Innovator Award and revealed that she was a “Little Monster” when she was growing up. “Lady Gaga wasn’t just a pop star; she was a lifeline,” she said. “Gaga taught us it was okay to be our real selves.”

In Doechii’s 2025 British Vogue feature, Gaga gushed over the rapper’s talents. “You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me,” she said.

The “Anxiety” rapper later told People that she “audibly gasped” after reading Gaga’s kind comments. “I’m the biggest Lady Gaga fan, and she is so dedicated to her creativity and pushing the limits,” she said. “For a legend like that to say that about me, it really, really validated me in a humbling way.”
