Lupita Nyongâo is well-known for her creative and experimental red carpet fashion, put together by her stylist, Micaela Erlanger.
The Academy Award-winning actress plays Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra in Christopher Nolanâs The Odyssey
Nyongâo is a global ambassador for several brands including Chanel, and wore several pieces designed by the luxury fashion house throughout the press tour.
Christopher Nolanâs The Odyssey (2026) may be the blockbuster of the summer, but what has us on the edge of our seats is the memorable fashion moments the press tour has produced. Lupita Nyongâo, who plays the dual role of Helen of Troy and her twin sister, Clytemnestra, embodied âthe face that launched a thousand shipsâ with a series of blockbuster looks.
The Kenyan-Mexican actress is no stranger to serving a look on the red carpet, from the Cinderella blue gown she wore at her Oscars debut in 2014 that she nodded to 10 years later, to the royal ensembles that paid homage to her character, Nakia, in Marvelâs Black Panther universe. Nyongâo also tends to style her natural hair in harmony with her outfits, creating cohesive looks that are chic and playful.
âLupita is the ultimate dream client, because she is a true sartorial chameleon,â Micaela Erlanger, Nyongâoâs stylist, told Vogue. âShe approaches fashion with the same courage and curiosity she brings to her acting roles, which makes the styling process feel like a genuine, boundary-pushing artistic collaboration.â
Nyongâo and her co-stars donned many iconic looks at The Odyssey press tour. Ahead, here are our eight favorite ensembles Nyongâo wore.

Nyongâo shone brightly in a gold gown from Nicholas Oakwell Couture at the New York City premiere of The Odyssey. The structured, corseted bodice complemented her draped skirt, which had lacy floral detailing and a peekaboo leg slit. Around her neck hung a five-strand pearl Sabyasachi choker with a polki diamond crafted in goldâa necklace fit for the queen Nyongâo plays. It matched the 18-carat gold and diamond ring on her right hand.
âI wanted to feel radiant and powerful, and hopefully capture a timelessness,â Nyongâo told Vogue of the gown. âThe dress was inspired by Joan Collinsâs commanding presence in Esther and the King.â
Nyongâo also nodded to the Epicâs literary origins with a blue and gold clutch shaped like a copy of The Odyssey, which she featured in an Instagram Reel that showed off her look. âI love a theme,â Nyongâo captioned the post with a book emoji.

Her Garatti jewelry sparkled as much as the dress, and she paired the look with a dramatic glam featuring plum lip gloss that matched the color of her blush, a smoked-out winged eyeliner, and a bit of golden highlighter on the brow bone.

Nyongâo loves bold colors, from her vibrant lipstick to her stand-out red carpet looks, and this ensemble was no different. Shortly after she attended the Chanel Couture show in Paris, Nyongâo graced the filmâs Parisian premiere in a beaded coral-red Chanel dress by Matthieu Blazy. The ensembleâs lacy floral embroidery provided an elevated take on the naked dress trend.
Nyongâo maintained the rose garden theme throughout her whole look, with minimal branch earrings from the SAUER x Jason Wu Collection. Her hair was also styled in an elegant criss-crossing manner that her hairstylist, Vernon François, called a âloop âfro,â per Essence.
According to makeup artist Nick Barose, Nyongâoâs peek-a-boo red dress channeled Eartha Kittâwho played the role of Helen of Troy in 1950 in Parisâand her glam followed the same motif. ââ[Nyongâoâs] flaming-red Chanel see-through dress is giving a bit of Eartha Kitt, so I wanted the makeup to be a nod to Eartha Kitt with her famous Catwoman feline eyes,ââ Barose told Who What Wear.
