Everything isn't as it seems in The 'Burbs.

In the Peacock show — which is a reimagining of the 1989 film of the same name — Samira (Keke Palmer) and Rob (Jack Whitehall) move into Rob’s old childhood home in a seemingly idyllic suburb that calls itself “the safest town in America.” But the picturesque town has one peculiarity: an old, rundown Victorian house that was allegedly once the site of a murder.

As Samira digs deeper into the mystery, it becomes clear that everyone — including her husband — has a secret.

While the series might focus on Palmer and Whitehall as a newlywed couple, much of the cast have fallen in love in real life. Whitehall has been in a relationship with his partner, Australian model Roxy Horner, since 2020, and the two got engaged in 2024. Meanwhile, Palmer is focusing on caring for her son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson.

Palmer leads The 'Burbs as a young wife who joins her husband as they move back into his childhood home in what appears to be an idyllic suburb.

Palmer was previously in a relationship with Darius Jackson. The two started dating in 2021 and welcomed their son, Leo, in February 2023. The two split later that year.

After a volatile custody battle and court-ordered mediation, the two settled amicably on a joint custody agreement in 2024.

“I wish I could say [Jackson] was terrible the entire time or that I was ... but it wasn’t that black-and-white and that was the problem.” she told PEOPLE in October 2024. “I didn’t want my son to think his father is a monster, because I don’t."

Whitehall plays Palmer’s husband, who's all too aware of some of the neighborhood’s rumors and scandals.

Whitehall has been in a relationship with Horner since 2020. Shortly after meeting, the two moved in together during the COVID-19 pandemic — despite not having gone on many dates in the outside world.

“We'd never gone to see a film together,” he told Mirror in July 2023. “We'd never been to a restaurant in England because we met in Australia."

In 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter, Elsie. After her birth, Whitehall shared a lengthy message on Instagram where he said Elsie’s birth was “utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined.”

In December 2024, the couple sparked engagement rumors when Horner posted a video showing off a sparkler on her left ring finger. Horner later confirmed their engagement, posting a series of couple photos in August 2025 with the caption, "Engagement photos taken by @jesswitheyphoto 🖤."

Julia Duffy plays one of the nosy neighbors in the suburb — but she might also be hiding a secret.

Duffy met the "love of her life," actor Jerry Lacy, on the set of the soap Love of Life. The two have been married since 1984, and throughout the decades, they’ve been able to act together on multiple occasions, including on episodes of Designing Women and Drake & Josh.

Together, they welcomed two children, daughter Kerry and son Daniel.

Comedian Paula Pell plays another one of Samira and Rob's neighbors.

Pell met her now-wife, fellow comedy writer Janine Brito, on X, according to The New Yorker. The two wed in November 2020 after postponing their wedding because of COVID.

Using her trademark humor, Pell revealed on Instagram that she wore a $35 dress from Target for their backyard wedding, which was attended by all of their dogs.

“It was a sparkling day full of hastily purchased clothes from Target and joy tears,” she wrote. “And of course all of our dog babies were witnesses.”

RJ Cyler, who plays Langston, is married to recording artist Nariah Francois.

The two keep a relatively private relationship, but Cyler sang Nariah’s praises during a viral January 2024 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show. During the segment, Hall brought up a photo of the couple on the red carpet, and Cyler pointed to the screen, saying, “That’s mine right there!”
