The couple got married in England in July following a civil ceremony in Australia; their second nuptials were attended by Spice Girl members Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Melanie “Mel B” Brown
During the interview, Mel C revealed how she really felt about one of her former bandmates wearing white to the ceremony
Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm knows that friends are forever, and she’s willing to laugh off a fashion faux pas amongst pals.
The 52-year-old singer tied the knot with her husband, Chris Dingwall, in England on July 18, following a civil ceremony in Australia. When it came time to celebrate their union with friends and family in the U.K., it was the bride who let tradition slide when it came to one of her former Spice Girls bandmates.
In an interview clip shared by Sydney radio station KIIS 1065, Mel C was asked about how she reacted to Geri Halliwell-Horner (aka Ginger Spice) wearing white, typically a color reserved for the bride, to her special day.

“I did have a little chat with Geri because it is her favorite color,” Mel C said, adding that Halliwell-Horner wears white “everyday.” She continued, “But she had a beautiful floral dress on, and it was white. But I did have a little giggle with her about that.”
On the day, Halliwell-Horner wore a patterned collared dress while Mel C opted for a sleek ivory slip dress crafted by former group mate Victoria Beckham. The looks were pictured in a feature done by British Voguepublished on July 19.

Although the fashion designer (aka Posh Spice) was the only Spice Girls member absent from Mel C and Dingwall’s nuptials (Mel C revealed that Beckham was in New York for the FIFA World Cup), she still showed support by designing the custom wedding gown.

At first, Beckham loaned Mel C one of her ensembles for the Australia nuptials since the one she already bought “didn’t quite fit.”
By the time the event in England came around, “Victoria wanted to make it much more personal to me,” Mel C told British Vogue. “She found some gorgeous vintage lace, and everything was really delicately dyed to the perfect shade. It’s very flattering, open at the back.”

“There’s just something about her clothes … They have a real simplicity, especially the slip dresses. They’re really feminine, but in a way that feels comfortable, and very me,” Mel C added.
