One grandmother is going viral after adding an unexpected new member to her family photo wall: Michael B. Jordan.
According to WPLG Local 10, Oklahoma resident Mary Story found a magazine photo of the 39-year-old actor, framed it and displayed it alongside pictures of her grandchildren, declaring Jordan one of her grandsons.
After spotting the photo on the wall, Story’s grandchildren shared it on TikTok. The video quickly went viral and eventually caught the attention of Jordan himself.
“The video went viral in probably 24 hours,” her granddaughter Natalie Sims told the outlet. “So by day two, his team reached out and said, ‘You know, Michael has seen the video, and we want you to know that he’s seen the video. He will respond, but he is on a promo run in London, but we want to send Granny something special.’”
Jordan’s team followed through by sending Story an amethyst necklace. The Sinners star later surprised his new “granny” with a FaceTime call to thank her for including him on the family photo wall.
“Why hello Michael,” Story told Jordan in a follow-up TikTok video. “This is your granny.”

“I see,” the actor replied. “Thank you so much for all the love you’ve been showing...you’ve got a beautiful family. Thanks for including me in the collage in the family pictures.”
During the call, Story showed Jordan exactly where his photo was hanging. Her daughter then joined the conversation and thanked the actor for taking the time to speak with their family.

“Hello Michael...I just wanna say you are truly the man of the year,” she said. “I am so grateful.”
“No problem,” Jordan replied. “I just love seeing three generations of beautiful Black women. This is great. Y’all are amazing. So much strength, especially from Tulsa. I’ve never been to Tulsa before.”
The family immediately invited him to visit, prompting Jordan to suggest that he may someday take them up on the offer.
“I might just surprise y’all,” Jordan added. “I’ma pull up.”
