A diary opens the story

Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 Episode 1 starts with a diary entry. An unnamed child has lost their real name. The child is held with other kids in terrible conditions. Two friends appear in the entry, and together they dream of escaping to become adventurers.
The episode then goes to Fran, Teacher, and Urushi. They are heading towards Port Dars from Alessa and stop to enjoy Teacher’s vegetable curry. This swift change of mood gives a patchy feeling to Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 Episode 1.
The floating island and the Skeleton Knight
Fran sees the island above them. Urushi and Levitation allow her to go only so high, so her Teacher utilizes Telekinesis to throw Fran. As they venture close to the island, a Skeleton Knight appears and attacks.
This knight is an extremely powerful Level 24 Dungeon Guardian with unparalleled abilities in magic and melee. Fran finds it difficult to maintain her Midair Slide skill and briefly uses another magic sword, which makes her Teacher jealous. Eventually, Fran and Urushi run low on mana and retreat. This marks the first big action scene in Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 Episode 1.

Fran tumbles off the island and keeps activating Midair Jump to cushion her fall until she lands at an odd house with a Necro-Grass field all around. There, she meets a skeleton named Bernard, who informs her that his master is the necromancer, Jean Du Vix.

Initially suspicious, Jean explains that not all necromancers are evil. In his view, necromancers control corpses so they don't turn into undead. He makes use of Necro-Grass in making necromancy potions. However, Fran and Teacher accidentally destroy about 30% of the crop.
Then Jean shows his Soul Eye, which sees skills engraved on souls. He quickly discovers that Teacher is a smart magic sword. Although Fran and Teacher expect Jean to ask for a service in exchange for studying them, Jean makes a different request. He wants help in exploring the dungeon on the island. Additionally, he informs her that there’s a skeleton knight guarding it.
Jean's offer and Andy's send-off

While searching for undead activity, Jean discovered a dungeon filled with undead creatures, the most frightening being a B-rank Undead Devourer that devours other undead beings, and Jean wishes it dead. Jean refers to himself as a B-rank Silver Adventurer, Jean the Slayer, who once wielded oppressive undead forces in war against the Kingdom of Raydoss.
Fran agrees to help out; she wants revenge against the Skeleton Knight. Jean summoned Andy, the Overspec Skeleton Wyvern. Although Andy is much stronger than a common low-ranked wyvern, he only survives for 24 hours. Jean says that no Kingdom owns the land between the three kingdoms; hence, he never revealed the dungeon.
The team sets out for the island, and Jean’s Winged Tiger Skeletons are attacking Bone Birds and lower-ranked wyverns. Andy gets overpowered in Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 Episode 1. Jean uses the Undead Slime to shield them all inside Andy’s rib cage. Andy breaks through the island barrier while using up all his mana. Before he fades, Jean uses a Purification spell to relieve his soul of bitterness after death, and Andy leaves happily.
The diary returns
The ending minutes take a dark twist with another diary entry. The unnamed youngster hears shrieks and eventually comes to the realization that the kids are being used as experimental subjects.
This develops a mystifying connection to Jean's necromancy studies. The narrative hasn't explained things yet, leaving an opening for the next episode. Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 Episode 1 ends on a grim note, leaving the fans with a straightforward question.
