Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton was hospitalized Tuesday after apparently harming himself in a TikTok livestream, prompting frightened viewers to call law enforcement, according to multiplereports.

The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office told People it staged a de-escalation in his Florida home.

“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,” a sheriff’s spokesperson explained.

“Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public.”

Without identifying Hilton, the sheriff’s office told CNN that the individual was “safely recovered” and taken to a local hospital.

A crisis response unit and mental health professionals were also on the scene to aid the individual’s family, according to the sheriff’s office.

In unverified clips of the livestream, which has since been taken down, a seemingly bloodied Hilton appeared to be cutting himself repeatedly as viewers begged him to stop.

Hilton’s representatives said they were aware of the “concerning content.”

“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan of Golden Artists Entertainment wrote in a statement to Page Six. “Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further.”

Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., reportedly hatched his gossip blog at a coffee shop on Sunset Boulevard in the aughts.

Back in March Hilton said he was hospitalized for several weeks with a life-threatening condition that began with an ulcer.

HuffPost has reached out to his reps for an update.
