Since Big Brother premiered in 2000, 28 people have taken home the grand prize

A number of former winners have competed on The Amazing Race

Others have pursued careers in entertainment, law and healthcare

Only a handful of people can say they’ve won Big Brother, and on Oct. 1, Survivor alum Rick Devens added his name to that list of champions going back more than two decades.

Based on the Dutch show of the same name, the CBS reality series follows a group of contestants — dubbed houseguests — who spend roughly three months living together cut off from the outside world. Along the way, they compete to avoid eviction until a jury of previously evicted houseguests votes to crown the winner.

While every one of the show’s 28 winners have taken a different path to the $750,000 grand prize, longtime host Julie Chen Moonves had some thoughts on what it takes to come out on top. During a 2026 panel celebrating the show’s 1,000th episode, she pointed to the season 16 winner as an example of a sound strategy.

ā€œI think if you want to win, you got to do the Derrick Levasseur, which is you cannot have loose lips,ā€ she said, per Parade, joking that a good player should ā€œmaybe be a little bit boring and not talk.ā€

From the season 1 champ to Rick Devens here’s where all 28 of the Big Brother winners are now.
